Twin City Frozen Foods
In the 40’s personal home freezers were not common. Towns would have local lockers for rent, to store citizen’s personal food. In 1944, Mr. Oscar Evans opened Twin City Frozen Foods at 114.W Mulberry St in Baltimore Ohio. It was a locker plant and a Custom Slaughter house. Mr. Evans ran the company for eight years. In 1952, he sold the business to his son-in-law Francis George. In the early 70’s Francis had the lockers removed because personal freezers in the home were more common. By removing the lockers it was possible to expand the retail and wholesale side of the business. Francis added a selection of fish, fruit and other specialty items. In 1988, Francis sold the business to his son and daughter-in-law Robert and Roberta George. They are the current owners, and are still moving the business forward. Custom Beef Processing is still performed day to day. Retail and wholesale accounts are growing with the help of their meat specialist team. Twin City Frozen Foods is a proud sponsor of the Buy Baltimore card striving to keep local businesses and the community strong.
